Not sure what to do after finishing compulsory schooling, or which training company to choose after pre-vocational school? We’d like to answer both questions briefly and to the point and give you some helpful pointers along the way.
1. Earn your own money
Your pocket money hasn’t been enough for ages? As an apprentice, you can look forward to your own pay every month and fund your free time yourself. At Gottwald, in the first two years of your apprenticeship you earn well above the pay set by the collective agreement.
2. Looking for variety?
Sitting in a classroom every single day isn’t your thing? You won’t escape the classroom altogether, but you’ll spend most of your apprenticeship enjoying a varied working day. With us, you’ll be out on all sorts of different construction sites – hospitals, residential complexes, football stadiums, family homes and more.
3. A job with a future
Skilled workers are in high demand! With the extensive practical experience you gain during your apprenticeship, all doors are open to you with us. Ideally, you’ll stay with our company after your apprenticeship – perhaps you’ll even run your own construction site and lead an installation team, or become an office-based technician? Your opportunities for promotion and development are almost unlimited!
4. Take the master craftsman’s exam
You’ve got your apprenticeship certificate in your pocket, but that’s not enough for you? Then start the master craftsman courses straight after your apprenticeship and boost your career prospects. We’ll support you all the way.
5. Do what you’re good at!
There are around 200 different apprenticeship trades. With such a wide choice, there’s bound to be the right one for you! Gottwald trains young people as electrical technicians or technical draughtspeople and makes sure that you are deployed, supported and challenged in line with your skills.
6. Combine an apprenticeship with the Matura?
Choosing an apprenticeship is a great start to your working life. But that’s not all! If you like, you can take the opportunity to do an apprenticeship with Matura (the Austrian school-leaving qualification) – and we’ll back your decision all the way.
7. You’ll become a real hands-on professional!
If you prefer practical work to theory, an apprenticeship is exactly right for you. At Gottwald, you’ll get to know a wide range of technologies (lighting, security, communications and media technology, renewable energy and more) and become a genuine electrical expert.
8. You’ll grow as a person!
As an apprentice, you learn how to deal with your colleagues and your supervisor, handle customer conversations successfully and keep a cool head in stressful situations. Gottwald offers extensive personal development training to get you ready for your professional future.
9. There’s always something new!
As an apprentice, you’re guaranteed never to be bored. Especially not with us! At Gottwald, there’s plenty of fun – whether it’s tennis, padel tennis or the gym, go-karting, the summer party or the ski day.
You’re full of energy and good with your hands, passionate about electrical engineering and enjoy working in a team?
Then you’ve come to the right place! Still not quite sure? Then come along and see for yourself what we and the “electrical technician” and “technical draughtsperson” apprenticeships have to offer at a taster day.
