Electric Friday 2025 – apprentices under power

|3 min read

On Friday 18 April 2025, the time had come again: the annual Electric Friday ⚡ took place at the company headquarters in Melk – this time organised for the first time by our new apprenticeship officer Alina Haberl. With great energy and commitment she put together a varied programme for our 43 apprentices, built around exchange, prospects and team spirit.

The day began with all the apprentices arriving, followed by a welcome from Alina and a presentation of the programme. They then moved in three groups to different stations, spending 50 minutes at each to explore the various topics.

🧭 Station 1 – career paths at Gottwald

Here Alina took the helm herself. The subject was the many opportunities for development after the apprenticeship. What departments actually exist at Gottwald? What prospects does a later move within the company offer? The apprentices gained valuable insights into career paths and could put their questions about the future directly.

💬 Station 2 – health and teamwork

Markus Högl, our occupational physician, gave the apprentices training on personal and workplace health promotion and on how important it is to work well together. A survey also produced some interesting findings from the apprentices' everyday experience.

🛠️ Station 3 – tool inspection

Here our two colleagues Bernd Eßbüchl and Richard Enengl were on hand to go through the tool cases together with the apprentices.

🗣️ Station 4 – feedback session

Alongside the stations on everyday work, we used the day to gather valuable feedback: in four areas – personality and development, the training workshop, general matters and workplace atmosphere, and training and daily routine – our apprentices had the chance to give their opinions and suggestions for improvement honestly and openly.

🍕 The crowning finale? Pizza, of course!

The day ended with lunch together – homemade pizza from our canteen was the perfect close to a day full of exchange, reflection and planning for the future.

“At Gottwald we attach particular importance to involving our apprentices actively in shaping their training. Their opinions, wishes and feedback help us to keep developing our training and to hold it to a high standard. Because only those who listen can train better!” – Alina Haberl, apprenticeship officer, who brings fresh air and a great deal of heart to our apprentice training. We are convinced: this is what training with a future looks like!
