Over the two summer months of July and August, 14 pupils in all completed a holiday placement with us this year. Most of them – twelve, in fact – worked on our sites at the Melk location and in Parndorf. We also received valuable support in the warehouse office, the electrical store and the HR department.
By offering the chance to do a summer job at Gottwald, we want to give young people an early insight into working life. We are glad if it also gives them a taste for our family business and introduces us as a possible future employer. In the past, holiday placements have already turned into long careers here once school was finished.
Erik Haydn, project manager:
“I got to know Gottwald in 2007 through my compulsory placement from HTL St. Pölten, which let me try out installation work. After school I started as an electrical draughtsman and I have now been with the company for 14 years. The holiday placement made it easier to start, because I already knew some of my colleagues.”
Julian, 16, HTL St. Pölten:
“I really enjoyed the placement. Working on site taught me a great deal. The fitter looking after me took good care of me and taught me a lot. If possible I would like to do another holiday placement at Gottwald next year!”
Lara, 17, Stiftsgymnasium Melk:
“This was my second placement at Gottwald. I already knew my colleagues in the electrical shop, and once again they welcomed me warmly and were very helpful. Before long I was selling the odd small appliance on my own! I was also able to get an insight into the HR department, where I particularly enjoyed the preparations for apprentice week.”
We look forward to seeing you again and hope we were able to pass on plenty of knowledge and practical experience! Apart from a summer placement, Gottwald also offers the chance to spend taster days all year round on our sites – an easy way to find out what work in electrical installation and plant engineering involves.
True to the motto "the early bird catches the worm", we are happy to receive your application for a summer placement in 2025 right now. Don't hesitate – get in touch today:
