Women’s power in the trade

|2 min read

“Just get on with it!” , is Michelle's tip when it comes to succeeding as a woman training to be an electrical technician. Michelle Weiss is a third-year Gottwald apprentice and known throughout the company for her can-do attitude and energy . For us she is a prime example of an apprentice, which is why we asked her for a short interview.

See more here:

Like so many young people, Michelle had no concrete idea of how things should continue for her after the first 8 years of compulsory schooling. At first she chose the IT technical college in Ybbs an der Donau, because programming and web design fascinated her. At the technical college she came into real contact with “electrical engineering” for the first time: there was a subject in which circuits were drawn and then wired up. She particularly enjoyed that and noticed her talent for it. Michelle did not finish at the technical college, however, and spent another year trying out a commercial college before she finally knew for certain which trade she wanted to work in.

We are delighted that Michelle found her way to us – even if by a slightly roundabout route. She is a great asset!

Would you like to convince us with your own brand of female determination? Then apply now for the apprenticeship as an electrical technician!
