23 Gottwald colleagues took on not only the slopes but also the mountain huts at this year's skiing-and-eating day on the Hochkar. From sunshine to snow flurries, from racing down the piste to a leisurely glass of wine … it was all there.
On Saturday 23 March 2024, we set off early in the morning for Göstling an der Ybbs and so towards the Hochkar. After the pleasant coach journey, including a small bite to eat, everyone threw themselves onto the slopes with real enthusiasm. The weather left nothing to be desired: in sunshine and mild temperatures a good few kilometres of piste were covered before the Gottwald team stopped at the first hut in the late morning.
The change in the weather came faster than expected, though. It took only a few minutes to go from a warm spring day to a cold snap. Because of the weather, the afternoon programme was therefore more eating and less skiing.
In two huts, Lower Austrian wine and regional specialities were sampled. Musicians topped off the good mood and had guests dancing to mountain hut classics.
