This year again there was a wonderful programme for our women on the traditional Gottwald ladies' day . From culture through exercise to good food – there was something for everyone!
On Saturday 10 September 2022, 20 colleagues set off at midday for Mautern. There they visited the Nikolaihof Wachau , which with its nearly 2,000-year history is Austria's oldest winery and, internationally, a pioneer in producing wine to biodynamic principles. The ladies were welcomed in the courtyard of the estate and shown around the old press house, the world's largest tree press and the ancient wine cellar. They then tasted five biodynamic wines and had the chance to try and buy the natural cosmetics range "dieNikolai".
Next it was on to Göttweig Abbey , where they also enjoyed a tour of the imperial wing and the abbey church.
Before moving on to the truly convivial part of the Gottwald ladies' day, the women stretched their legs and walked from Göttweig Abbey along woodland and vineyard paths to the final destination: the Heuriger at the Dockner sparkling wine house . A table buffet of various warm specialities, an assortment of pastries, cheese from the Bregenzerwald and the odd good glass of wine rounded off a successful day in culinary terms too.
A warm THANK YOU to our senior owner, who makes this day possible year after year.
