In 1969 the Dachstein glacier was opened up to tourism for the first time with the Dachstein Südwandbahn cable car. 54 years later we were able to take part in renewing the summit station. On 23 May we celebrated not only the reopening of the summit station on the Dachstein, but also the completion of our highest building site to date, at 2,700 m — at that time also the highest building site in Austria.
Although the seven months of construction brought many weather-related challenges, working at this high-alpine location was a special experience for the colleagues involved. In the end we installed almost 300 photovoltaic modules in wind and snow, with a total area of 540 m². We were also able to fit out the new restaurant area and seminar room.
