For 117 years, older people have been cared for and looked after at the Himberg care and support centre. The province of Lower Austria has now invested in rebuilding and extending it. The result is a modern, barrier-free building that was rebuilt step by step in three construction phases — houses A & B, C & D and finally administration — without interrupting day-to-day operations. Instead of the previous 134, there is now room for 174 residents to live in light-filled, contemporary residential units. The offering is complemented by psychosocial care groups and a gerontopsychiatric residential group.
On this project we made sure the new centre is connected throughout — from instrumentation and control for the heating, cooling and ventilation systems, through individual room control for demand-based climate regulation, to the building management system for central control and visualisation. In short: we created the “invisible infrastructure” that keeps everything running reliably, efficiently and comfortably — for residents, care staff and visitors alike.
