Schloss Eckartsau

Services

Low-voltage main distribution, cables and wiring, conduit and support systems, switching and plug-in devices, LED lighting, central battery system, emergency lighting, photovoltaic system, IT cabling, fire alarm system, smoke and heat extraction system

Schloss Eckartsau was built around 1720, later remodelled in the neo-baroque style by the heir to the throne Franz Ferdinand, and is today a palace open to the public in the Donau-Auen National Park. Its many visitors bring it to life through guided tours and events.

In recent years the owner — the Austrian Federal Forests — has invested steadily in ongoing renovation work. More than four million euros went into refurbishment and maintenance. The historic facade is resplendent once more, the entrance with its outside staircase was restored in style, and a welcoming café and modern exhibition rooms now invite visitors to linger. We were able to play our part and were on board with our expertise in electrical engineering: our tasks were the renewal of the existing electrical installation, the emergency lighting, the fire alarm system and the photovoltaic system, through to inspection of all systems.

Projects like this are a particular pleasure, because here a delicate touch meets technology. It is good to see the old preserved while something new is allowed to grow alongside it.
