With the conversion and extension of the primary school, the town of Melk is preparing for the future and making the town an even friendlier place for children. The extension of the existing building and the new timber-frame annexe create more space for the pupils. There are now a total of 20 classrooms available. A multipurpose room, a craft room and a new library — which is also to be used for events — have been created as well.
The special feature of this project was creating a link from the primary school across the annexe to the existing gym by means of a bridge. Thanks to this, pupils can now walk all the way to the gym indoors. On top of that, above this connecting wing three new classrooms have been created, which are used for afternoon care.
A great gain for all the young people of Melk!
