A magical retreat in the middle of Austrian history.
The Leiben tower was once a bare defensive tower that has outlasted the centuries, and today it stands as a witness to times past. The road from medieval fortification to unique residential gem was a long one.
Today it stands renovated and revitalised, and can be booked by anyone for an unforgettable holiday in the Waldviertel.
Mechtildis and Gerhard Kleinberger fell in love with the tower, wanted to buy it and move in. Sadly Gerhard Kleinberger died before the work was finished, and the building site stood untouched for decades. In 2021/2022 the time finally came — after years of planning and gathering ideas, the exciting refurbishment and restoration of the tower began.
What began as a simple renovation quickly turned into a true masterpiece. New electrical cabling and installations were laid, exquisite box windows were fitted, and the historic masonry now shines in its old splendour. Almost like a new building, but with the soul of ages past.
It is a particular honour for us to have been part of this one-of-a-kind project.
