Our apprentice Florian Steffek competed for our company Gottwald GmbH & Co KG at High-Tec Apprentice Day 2019 and performed so well that he took a sensational 1st place.

High-Tec Apprentice Day took place on 3 and 4 April 2019 at the WIFI in St. Pölten. The best apprentices from across Lower Austria were invited to solve trade-specific tasks in various categories and prove their ability. The three most popular metalworking trades were honoured with the "Metallica", and electrical engineering is one of them.

Alongside the apprentice competitions there were also demonstration contests. Pupils and their parents took the opportunity to find out more about the individual trades.

The following disciplines were represented in the live demonstrations and apprentice competitions:

  • Electrical engineering – electrical and building services engineering
  • Electronics – communications electronics
  • Vehicle body engineering
  • Plumbing and building services
  • Refrigeration engineering
  • Coachbuilding
  • Motor vehicle technology
  • Agricultural machinery technology
  • Aircraft engineering
  • Mechanical engineering
  • Mechatronics
  • Metal technology
  • Forging
  • Sheet metal work

With his performance Florian not only took the win, he also made Gottwald Lower Austria's best training company 2019 in electrical engineering. Next year he automatically takes part in AustrianSkills 2020 in Salzburg and can represent Lower Austria there with distinction.

Managing director DI Jürgen Gottwald, technical director Thomas Grossinger, apprenticeship officer Stephanie Goldfuß and Florian's father supported and congratulated the winner on site.

We are particularly pleased to have taken our third win in just four years. That speaks for our apprentices and shows that our training is going in the right direction.

We are very proud of our Florian and congratulate him once again!
