When good spirits meet colourful costumes and everyday work takes a short break, it's carnival time at Gottwald. Once again this year we dressed up, sampled doughnuts and celebrated together – on two days in a row.
This year things were a little different. Instead of starting on Shrove Tuesday as usual, we began the celebrations on Carnival Monday, 16 February: together with our neighbouring companies, we were guests of Klaus Haberl. Once again we set a motto: “Show your true colours”. The challenge: to be dressed from head to toe in a single colour. The result was quite something – a colourful sea and the odd colour gradient could be spotted. We were treated to chilli con carne, vegan goulash and plenty of sweet treats. Thank you to Klaus Haberl, Quarzwerke and BKS for the invitation and a wonderful afternoon – it was a thoroughly successful party!
On Shrove Tuesday, 17 February, we carried on in the traditional way – and yet a little differently than usual: the employees from Melk met in the reception area of our headquarters for the annual doughnut-eating contest and a get-together. Of course, there were plenty of costumes on Shrove Tuesday too.
There was a special highlight waiting for us this year as well: our senior boss took the opportunity of his 70th birthday to invite all employees for a small drink. Glasses were raised, congratulations offered and everyone celebrated together. Naturally, the staff had a present for him as well, which was handed over with great pleasure.
