On Saturday 17 December 2022 around 250 Gottwald colleagues took their seats in the festively decorated Melk tennis hall and enjoyed a thoroughly successful Christmas celebration.
At 6 p.m. everyone gathered outside around fire baskets over roast chestnuts and mulled wine, with musical accompaniment from the Melk hunting horn players. There was even a little snow on the grass – so the Christmas spirit could take hold.
The official part began with Lara Gottwald, daughter of managing director DI Jürgen Gottwald, and a reflective Christmas poem. Jürgen Gottwald then welcomed the gathering warmly, spoke words of thanks and gave a short look back over the past year as well as a look ahead to 2023. Before a photo show recalled successfully completed projects and shared experiences, Ursula Hackl – a long-serving employee of the Wein & Wachau wine shop – enriched the evening with a thoughtful Christmas story. All new colleagues were warmly welcomed once again, and Gottwald's apprentices were honoured for excellent results at vocational school as were long-serving colleagues for their loyalty to the company.
We were pleased that Patrick Strobl, mayor of Melk, Dr Andreas Nunzer of the Lower Austrian Chamber of Commerce and Harald Loike of the Lower Austrian Chamber of Labour also attended our celebration.
The evening was rounded off with a delicious festive menu from Pichlers Donauhof , fun at the photo booth, the table football table and the pool table. Gottwald's employees enjoyed the company in a cheerful mood and celebrated the year 2022.
