Apprenticeship with the Matura at Gottwald

|2 min read

With us you can combine the two.

Learn a trade or stay on at school?

Some of our apprentices take the Matura alongside their practical training – we support them on their way to becoming highly qualified skilled workers who can be deployed in many different ways.

The preparatory courses are offered by the WIFI among others, as well as by some vocational and higher schools, and can be taken from the first year of the apprenticeship. We support our apprentices on their way to the Matura, among other things with flexible working hours, special arrangements and so on.

We interviewed two of our apprentices.

Why did you decide on an apprenticeship with the Matura?

The system is a good way to combine practice and theory. After training like this, many doors are open to you.

How often do the courses take place?

Our courses take place on Friday evenings from 4 to 6.30 p.m. and Saturday afternoons from 1 to 4 p.m. . There are different modules: German, English, maths and the specialist subject, which in our case is electrical engineering.

How long does the apprenticeship with the Matura take?

One module takes place each year, after which you usually sit the exam straight away. So the whole thing takes about 4 years. It has no effect on the length of the apprenticeship. The first exam has to be passed during the apprenticeship, and two further exams can be taken during that time. The fourth and final exam may only be taken after the final apprenticeship examination.

Are there any costs?

The Matura and the weekly coaching are free of charge for us.
