Sunshine – fun on the water – nature – action – sport – barbecue
… that is the best way to describe this year's fitters' outing.
On Friday 3 June 2022, in brilliant sunshine, 26 colleagues set off by coach with Zwölfer-Reisen towards Palfau in Styria. Packed for the trip: snacks, cold drinks and good spirits.
On arrival at the rafting camp we met the guides, squeezed ourselves into wetsuits and then divided into 4 rafts. Before heading into the cool water we were briefed properly, so that we would all reach the finish safely and bring every colleague home unharmed.
We spent around 2 hours together on the Salza – the longest undammed wild river in the Eastern Alps. We paddled for all we were worth, dared a 5-metre jump from the former Wasserloch footbridge, and one or two enjoyed the feeling of complete freedom while swimming in the white water.
We spent the time until dinner in good conversation with a view of the Gesäuse mountains and proved our ball skills at football and volleyball.
As the crowning finale to a thoroughly successful trip, we satisfied our enormous appetites at a barbecue evening . A beer round the campfire followed as a bonus. It would have been easy to stay there the whole summer night.
