Summer, sunshine, work placement

|2 min read

This summer 11 pupils are completing their holiday placement at our company – 9 of them on site, one in the warehouse and another in the Teletechnik store.

As every year, we are glad to give young people an insight into working life and into our company. In the past, holiday placements have already turned into long-term employment once school was finished.

We asked our placement students what they were able to take away from their time with us.

Florian, 16, HTL for electrical engineering, Waidhofen/Ybbs: “Last week I mainly worked in the repair service, where I learned a great deal, because I had had little to do with household appliances before. It never got boring, because every customer had different problems with their appliances. At the moment I am helping with renovation work at a school and the construction of a new sports hall.”

Emil, 16, HTL for electrical engineering, St. Pölten: “I really enjoyed it. Of course it was a bit hot, but that comes with the job. I was able to work on the sites at Schubert Melk, Melk Abbey, at the Sandler printing works, on the photovoltaic installation at Quarzwerke and in switchgear assembly.

I had already done many of the tasks at school, but getting to know the working day was a new experience.”

Jonathan, 20, vocational school for aviation technology, Langenlebarn: “I would like to say thank you for making this placement possible. I really like it on the TU Wien site. There is a lot to do, but you see a great deal, there is variety and the team is really nice.”

Lukas, 17, HTL for electrical engineering, St. Pölten: “I enjoyed my holiday placement very much. I was on the site in Leogangstraße and learned the basics of fire alarm control panels.”

We look forward to seeing you again and hope we were able to pass on plenty of knowledge and practical experience!
