Once again this year, many school students took the opportunity to complete a summer work placement at Gottwald during July and August. In total, we welcomed 15 interns. Most of them gave our teams a real hand on the building sites at our Melk and Parndorf locations. We also received valuable support in purchasing, in the warehouse, in the electrical store and in the IT department.
By offering the chance to do a summer job at Gottwald, we want to give young people an early insight into the world of work. At the same time, we are pleased if this lets us give them a taste of our family business and introduce ourselves as a potential future employer. After all, summer placements have led to long-standing employment – once school was finished – in the past.
Erik Haydn, project manager:
“I got to know Gottwald in 2007 through my compulsory work placement at the HTL St. Pölten, which gave me a taste of installation work. After school I started as an electrical draughtsman, and I have now been with the company for more than 15 years. The summer placement made it easier to get started because I already knew some of my colleagues.”
Mario Will, instrumentation and control programmer:
“I started at Gottwald in 2004 with a compulsory work placement on a building site – shortly afterwards I also got to try my hand as a technical draughtsman. After the HTL I started straight away at Gottwald, and later, during the construction of our headquarters, I got my first taste of instrumentation and control – I have now been a programmer for more than 14 years. And it all started with a placement.”
We hope that we have been able to give all our interns plenty of knowledge and practical experience, and we look forward to seeing them again. Besides a summer placement, by the way, there is also the opportunity all year round to spend taster days on our building sites – an easy way to get to know the many different kinds of work in electrical engineering.
True to the motto “The early bird catches the worm”, we are already happy to accept applications for the 2027 summer placement. So don't hesitate – get in touch now!
