On Thursday, 3 September 2026, it was time once again at our Melk site to swap the end of the working day for family time! In perfect late-summer weather, more than 200 employees and their families spent a relaxed afternoon and evening together in a friendly atmosphere.
After a welcome from the management, one thing above all took centre stage: enjoying the day together and catching up. For the first time this year, food came from no fewer than three food trucks, which offered plenty of culinary variety:
- Asian finger food from Truck4You
- Burgers from Ray's Grill Truck
- Pizza from Pizza e Vino
Whether crispy pizza, a juicy burger or Asian delicacies: there was something for every taste. And of course there had to be something sweet: once again there was ice cream from the Hansinger organic farm and a candy bar for our youngest guests. As always, the team from the Haberl drinks wholesaler made sure we were well looked after all round.
While the adults chatted, the children had plenty to discover. Our childminders from the Glühwürmchen (glow-worms) childcare once again put together a varied programme and, with a craft corner and a Bobby Car race, made sure nobody got bored. The big bouncy castle in particular was firmly in children's hands all afternoon and once again became the secret centre of the party.
As every year, the awards ceremony for the spusu Lower Austria company challenge was on the programme. Our sportiest employees were honoured for their commitment and the minutes of exercise they had logged. The winners of our World Cup prediction game were also presented with prizes – they had made the best predictions thanks to their football knowledge and, now and then, probably a bit of luck.
Another highlight was the traditional raffle, which guaranteed plenty of excitement.
In the evening things got sporty and loud at the same time: in the table football tournament, a total of 26 employees battled for the title. With lots of ambition, even more team spirit and the odd spectacular goal, the players fought some thrilling duels. Beyond winning, the main thing was having fun together.
A big thank you goes to all the helpers and service providers who made the family day possible. Above all, we would like to thank our employees and their families, who once again made this afternoon something really special.
We are already looking forward to the next Gottwald family day! 🎉😊
