On Wednesday 2 November a group of 16 of our apprentices set off, together with apprenticeship officer Philipp Kager, for din-Sicherheitstechnik in Loosdorf.
The company din is devoted entirely to the subject of emergency lighting and focuses fully on its core competence, emergency lighting , helping people escape in emergencies by means of light fittings and illuminated signs. The Loosdorf site was newly built in 2020.
On arrival at the company we were warmly welcomed and given drinks and pastries before Mr Patric Stieflbauer gave us an informative talk about the company and we gained our first insights into the subject of safety lighting. On a large wall, din's product range and how it works were explained to us in detail.
The smoke chamber was probably the most exciting station for our apprentices. There they could experience how quickly you become helpless when a room fills with smoke. The importance of installed emergency lighting came across very clearly.
Finally we were able to fortify ourselves with a hot lunch on site and talk about what we had learned. A warm thank-you to din-Sicherheitstechnik for a great morning and the fascinating tour of the company.
