A new central depot for the Burgenland road maintenance service was built in Stoob. The new site comprises an administration building and a works hall with a central store, workshop and inspection station for lorries. Covered parking spaces for the vehicle fleet, heated and unheated garages, a filling station, salt silos including a brine mixing plant and wash bays were also built on the 25,440 m² site. In total the depot has room for around 110 employees.
Great importance was attached to sustainability in the design of the depot. Power is supplied by the new transformer at the entrance. A PV system on the roof surfaces provides an environmentally friendly addition to the energy supply, and heat comes from a wood-chip heating system. Measures were also taken in the vehicle fleet area to cover future demand for EV charging points.
