On Thursday, 29 August 2024, Gottwald held its annual barbecue and summer party at its Melk site – this year, however, for the first time in a slightly different form, as a family celebration - the Gottwald family day. In summery temperatures and glorious sunshine, more than 150 Gottwald employees spent a relaxed afternoon with their families and children in a laid-back atmosphere.
After a few short words of welcome from the management, the Gottwald team enjoyed the very best food and drink.

The entertainment programme for the kids left nothing to be desired: at an activity station on the site of the new children’s playground, the little ones could really let off steam. In the craft corner, they busily designed badges featuring the Gottwald glow-worm – the mascot of our company childcare – and brightened up colouring pages. Things got really creative in the adventure corner, where bracelets were knotted, hair was plaited and key rings were made. But the highlight was without doubt the 5-metre-high, huuuuuuge fire-engine bouncy castle, where the kids could really go wild. It made every child’s heart beat faster.
VISIT THE GLÜHWÜRMCHEN CHILDCARE
Anyone interested could join guided tours with the management and take a look inside the recently completed extension to the Gottwald headquarters. Visitors saw the training workshop, the company childcare facility, the modern offices and the break area.
The family day was rounded off with a raffle for employees. The prizes, sponsored by our partners in the Gottwald-Card programme, were handed out as a thank-you for the company’s 45th anniversary and the team spirit that goes with it. The draw was, of course, done in style by “lucky angels” – the employees’ children drew the winners from the prize pot. From a TV to goodie bags, cosmetics gift sets and all kinds of vouchers, there was something for everyone.
The main prize, sponsored by our Elektro Teletechnik specialist store, was won this year by Roland Mayrhofer from the switchboard assembly department.

The winners of the spusu NÖ company challenge also received their prizes. The sporting aces with the most minutes of exercise were delighted with sports towels, sports bottles and sports bags. The top 3 employees also received a personal surprise prize.
The first Gottwald family day was a huge success. Together with colleagues, families and children, we spent a truly lively afternoon and a relaxed evening. “Every get-together is a step towards even greater team spirit!” says managing director Bernd Gottwald with conviction. True to this idea, hardly a month goes by at Gottwald without a company event or celebration.
