Since the beginning of this year Martin Meisinger has joined the management team here at Gottwald, where he is responsible for project coordination and for every other area where help is needed.
To mark the occasion he wrote the foreword to our latest magazine issue:
After 20 years with the company it was time for the next step. The decision to "leave" my team – with whom I had worked directly for years and which I had led for the last 10 years as team leader – was not an easy one. The appeal of new challenges and greater responsibility finally led me to take a new path and face new tasks.
Our lives are constantly changing, in a professional context too. What is important today may be only half as important tomorrow, and in 10 years perhaps nobody will talk about it at all. That is one reason why I see my new role not as something rigid but as something flexible, with room and a need for development,. That mindset makes it easier for me to adjust to new circumstances and build resilience.
The vision of Gottwald is very clearly visible to me: steady growth, a strong foundation – the basis of all success – and the very highest quality. To build our position in the market further, it is essential that we stay true to our values. Our broad internal knowledge must be preserved and constantly expanded. The quality of our apprentice training must remain the top priority – skilled workers trained in-house are, after all, what sets us apart. And one thing must be clear to us: only with appreciative and respectful dealings with one another can good cooperation, and ultimately the success of a project, be guaranteed!
After two decades at Gottwald I feel thoroughly prepared for my new challenges. I have already learned many lessons: honesty and courage pay off. Sometimes you need to assert yourself. Together we are stronger. And I am certain many lessons are still waiting for me. I am looking forward to them.
Here's to an exciting year, Martin Meisinger
