Gottwald – your number one partner for electrical engineering!

|5 min read

For more than 40 years, we at Gottwald – with locations in Melk, Parndorf and Ramsau – have grown steadily and expanded our expertise.

Throughout, we have never lost sight of our values, our goals and our vision.

Even though a great deal has changed over the years, our goals remain the same:

  • Customer satisfaction through the highest quality
  • An industry pioneer with outstanding capacity for innovation
  • Highly trained staff; creating value in the region as a reliable employer and service provider, and through sustainable business practices

Through our actions every day, we are constantly moving closer to these goals.

Working at the highest level

Over the past 40 years, more than 380 young people have started their apprenticeship with our company, and many of them are still with us today. A prime example is our technical director, Thomas Grossinger, who began his professional success story at the company in 1992 as an electrical engineering apprentice.

Every year we train around 15 new apprentices. To keep pace with the challenges of the times, we continually review our training standards and take steps to improve them.

At team events and in regular feedback sessions, our trainees have the opportunity to get involved, raise any concerns and receive constructive criticism themselves. Our apprenticeship coordinator, Philipp Kager, is not only the point of contact for apprentices and trainers but is also in regular contact with their parents.

An in-house training workshop – construction of which begins in autumn 2023 – will round off our existing offering.

Our efforts are paying off: our apprentices very often come out on top in apprentice competitions. And from day one, they are out on our construction sites, making an essential contribution to the success of our projects.

It is not only our apprentices who keep on learning. We have also established a well-developed training programme for trainers, electricians, technicians and project managers in many areas. This allows us to guarantee state-of-the-art know-how and to handle demanding projects successfully.

To get a picture of job satisfaction and identify where action is needed, we carry out employee surveys at regular intervals.

In addition, anonymous feedback can be given at all our locations. Dealing with this feedback as a matter of course is not only firmly rooted in our mindset but also set down in writing in our ISO standards.

Innovation is part of our daily routine

Implementing technical innovations is a must – if you stand still, you fall behind. The diversity of generations and knowledge within our company ensures that we look at upcoming challenges from many different perspectives. Sustainable energy systems account for an ever-growing share of our services, and we are not afraid to embrace the latest innovations.

Taking responsibility

As a regional business that has grown considerably, with around 300 employees, we are very much aware of our responsibility. Always striving to be an attractive employer, we run a wide range of employee programmes. Whether it’s workplace safety, health programmes (in-house massages, psychological counselling, freshly cooked meals, a quiet room), sports facilities (gym, tennis and padel tennis), benefits programmes or a broad range of company events – we are always on the lookout for new ways to increase employee satisfaction.

Beyond the economic responsibility we bear as the management, we also have a human responsibility.

Running a continuously growing company and creating a professional home where everyone feels comfortable, enjoys coming to work and can fulfil their potential – that is quite a challenge! We take it on with the utmost passion.

Sustainable business is a priority for us. Only an economically sound company can offer stability to its employees and their families. Established processes, such as thorough work preparation and efficient planning and purchasing, ensure that projects are carried out carefully, with as little energy and material waste as possible. Years of industry experience usually prove to be a good guide, although opportunities and risks are always assessed and weighed up together, as a team. We aim for healthy growth – without having to compromise on our values.

We also bear responsibility for future generations. In addition to our existing internal sustainability programmes, such as generating electricity with PV systems in Melk and Parndorf, heat pumps for air conditioning, earth-air heat exchangers, a water cistern, a growing electric fleet and the reuse of packaging materials, we have further steps planned to reduce our impact on the environment – so watch this space!

Our promise to you

Founded as a small two-person business, we have made closeness to our customers our top priority from the very beginning. We want to use our know-how to offer you the best possible solution. Big or small – your project is in the best hands with us. You can rely on that!
